# Grading Scale

## How I Calculate Grade Values

The table below lists the letter grade equivalents for different point ranges. The 100-point range is the school-accepted range. The other point ranges were calculated by dividing the point value given by the total number of points available then multiplying by 100 to get a percent value. The percent value was compared to the school’s 100-point grading scale. For example: 25 points out of a possible 30 points results in 83.3% (25/30*100 = 83.3). Looking up 83.3 on the schools grading scale shows that it falls in the “B” range of 87.9 to 82. I created these tables as reference because recalculating the same values over and over again got pretty old. The table is posted here in case you were curious about how I calculate letter grades.
