CustomInk Outing: Tuesday, March 7 2017

Field Trip/Outing to CustomInk

Our class meeting for Tuesday, March 7th will be at CustomInk in Fairfax, VA. We are invited to tour the facilities and learn about the CustomInk company. Maybe even pick up some swag and make contacts.

CustomInk specializes in custom t-shirt and clothing printing on demand.

CustomInk is located near the beltway in the Mosaic District near the intersection of Rt. 29 and Gallows Road. The address is: Mosaic District, 2910 District Ave #300, Fairfax, VA 22031. We will meet on the sidewalk just in front of the CustomInk offices.

Parking is available on the street or in nearby parking garages. I know the Target parking garage is free and is about a block away or so from CustomInk.

The nearest metro station is Dunn Loring on the Orange Line. There is a shuttle from Dunn Loring to the Mosaic District. Details and timetable are here:

You are responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from CustomInk.

The tour begins at 10:00am and is expected to go until 11:30am. We will meet on the sidewalk out front of the CustomInk office building between 9:30 and 9:45. Please be on time.

Please email me if you have any questions.

DB Problems

My site, for some reason, is experiencing issues with the DB and it’s affecting how content is organized and distributed on the site. I’m working on fixing it and tracking down what the issue(s) are. This may take a little while, though and I appreciate your patience. At the moment, your best bet for finding relevant course info (particularly assignments) is to use the search field. Using terms like ‘Creative Juice’, ‘Skillz’, and ‘Crafting’ will pull up most posts. Keep in mind that this will pull up all posts that match the search, even stuff from past quarters. Be sure to double check the publication/due dates of posts. If it’s a date prior to Jan. 1 2015, you can safely ignore it.

What’s going on here?

It seems there are some technical difficulties with pk311 that’s preventing certain posts from displaying (important ones, like assignments, for example). I’m in the process of debugging. Things may get hairy looking. In light of this, week 2 home work and reading assignments are extended for week 3.
